The Samye Dzong ‘Superheroes’ Kids group generally meet once a month (excluding July/August & December). We meet at 9:45 and finish around 11:30, when we share a snack/lunch. This is a group set up by parents for children of Buddhist families who wish to learn more about the Buddha and his teachings, what it means to be a Buddhist and to familiarise themselves with the Centre. The session usually consists of doing simple prostrations in the Shrine Room, a short meditation, taking the three precepts (specially for children), listening to some simple teachings, doing arts and crafts, and finish with a snack. We also meet with visiting teachers when they are in the Centre. Suitable for children aged 7 – early teens. Bring food to share. All children must be accompanied by a parent – this is not a ‘drop-off sevice’!
