photo 2(1)The practice of Tsetar – or life release, the liberating of animals destined to be killed – is an extremely powerful practice. Life is precious, and to save lives of creatures that would otherwise be killed is the ultimate act of compassion. To honour the birthday of His Holiness 17th Karmapa, for His long life, His good health, and for the continuing and increasing of His activities we will do this practice on Saturday 9th July.

The practice of releasing animals destined to be killed helps to purify karma and generates great merit, the more we can do the greater the merit achieved. Over the years we have already liberated many lives and we hope to continue to liberate many more.

If you would like to participate in the practice, join us at 2pm at the Harbour in Howth beside Wrights. it’s a great day out – for adults and children alike, so please come along. As we will dealing with live lobsters and crabs, bring gloves (to help save fingers!) and wellington boots (to keep feet dry!) – and be prepared for the Irish weather!

If you are unable to join us you can still help by sponsoring lives to be released. You can make your donation by sending us a cheque/draft/postal o to the order of ‘Kagyu Buddhism Ireland’ and send it to Kagyu Samye Dzong Dublin, 56 Inchicore Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8
