Ringu Tulku 4Dear Friends,

We are delighted to announce details of the visit of Ringu Tulku Rinpoche to Kagyu Samye Dzong Dublin, Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre.

Rinpoche will give evening talks in KSDD based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead, The Bardo Thodol or the Great Liberation upon Hearing in the Intermediate State.

What happens to us when we die? Buddhism teaches that we enter an ‘interim state’ known as the Bardo, where we remain for 49 days before moving on to our next incarnate state.
How does the state of our mind in life affect the nature of our experience in death? If we are not prepared, death can be a confusing and frightening experience. When we die our consciousness floats free and roams the Bardo undergoing powerful experiences, and a huge potential for liberation exists. The Bardo Thodol, and the practices done during the 49 days, call the person towards liberation from the Bardo state – this is why it is known as the Great Libreation through Hearing.
Death is a momentous turning point which launches us into the journey of the unknown, the Bardo Thodol is a guide which helps us transition from our former life to our new destination.

These teachings are invaluable for all, and Ringu Tulku is the perfect teacher to present such a difficult subject, bringing his wealth of experience and knowledge along with his humour and kindness.
